Muscles
Fast running animals such a Black Bears, muscles deliver speed but not strength. Muscles that attach to farther away from the pivoting joint produce slower, but powerful movements. The muscles in bears are arranged that way. The process that allows them to attach is longer in weaker but faster moving animals. The longer process increases muscle leverage as they contract. Bears have a more limited range of movement since their muscles are not attached to their bones.
